Aftercare message boundaries: what to include / avoid
A strong aftercare message is clear, controlled, and aligned with what was discussed. It avoids diagnosis, certainty, and added reassurance.
Include (safe)
• 3–6 bullet points of what to do
• 2–4 bullet points of what to avoid
• When to message you / follow-up timing (if discussed)
Avoid (risk)
• explaining causes (“this happens because…”)
• medical labels and certainty
• guaranteed outcomes or timelines
• “nothing to worry about” reassurance
Tone check
If it sounds like a sales page, rewrite. If it sounds like a diagnosis, rewrite. Aim for structured, clear, neutral.
